Udon Thani, Thailand

Udon Thani Udon Thani is a province in North-East Thailand.  It is also one of the four biggest cities in the Isan region.  Isan comprises all of the north-eastern portion of Thailand.  The Isan people speak a language which is a mix of Thai and Lao languages.  Most also understand and can speak the full Thai language.

The city became popular during the Vietnam war with hosting the Udon Royal Air Force base.  Many American Air Force personnel were stationed at this base while flying missions into Vietnam during the war.

Many restaurants serve western style food and cater to the foreigner tourist visitors.  There are also many bars with sexy Thai girls available to the tourists.

The Udon Thani International Airport receives travelers from many countries.  Plus, it has several domestic flights serving the Thai community.  You can travel to this place by Air, Bus, Train, or VIP Van.  The city is easy to get to being located on the major highway in Thailand.

Surrounded by one of the major agricultural areas of the country, Udon Thani has become a regional hub for agriculture, commercial distribution, shopping and a fledgling tourism industry. Some of the popular sites to see include the Lotus flower fields and the many temples in the area.

Golf is a favorite activity with a couple of 9 hole courses that can be played twice for an 18 hole challenge.  Not too far north of Udon, is the Victory golf course which is a proper 18 hole course that is well designed and developed.  The course is well groomed and laid out with challenging tees and fairways. The caddies that work the Victory course are well trained and provide good service to players.
